Join us at the Global Disability Summit Side Event! Where we will be discussing Disability inclusive safeguarding: A non-negotiable for disability inclusive development and humanitarian work.
We’re pleased to announce that Able Child Africa will be hosting a disability-inclusive safeguarding side event at the Global Disability Summit Thursday 17th February 1 pm – 2:30 pm CET, alongside Save the Children International and our partner in Rwanda UWEZO Youth Empowerment who have worked with us to produce Disability-inclusive Child Safeguarding Guidelines. The event will be chaired by a disability inclusion advocate and youth with cerebral palsy, Njeri Maria from Kenya.
This event will highlight the current gap in understanding how best to safeguard children with disabilities in programmatic delivery. The event will provide practical advice on how practitioners can safeguard all children in their work, pointing practitioners towards the Disability-inclusive Child Safeguarding Guidelines and Toolkit recently published and provide example commitments organisations can adopt relating to inclusive safeguarding.
This event will be an insightful and useful discussion when it comes to disability and inclusive safeguarding, therefore, we would love to have you attend.
