Able Child hosted the Annual Gala Dinner 2024 | Celebrating 40 Years on Friday 22 November at Banking Hall.
We were able to come together with our incredible network of supporters, donors and friends to celebrate our achievements not just in 2024, but over the last four decades as Able Child celebrated 40 years of making lasting change.
Able Child celebrated 40 years of making lasting change for children with disabilities in Africa with our network member Uganda Society for Disabled Children (USDC). The Able Child Annual Gala Dinner 2024 in association with Exile Group and Azad Ayub Ltd raised an incredible sum that will help us to keep working to ensure no child with a disability in Africa is left behind.
We would like to thank everyone who came for your generosity in supporting our cause. Whether you pledged your support, donated a prize, bought a ticket or took part in our auctions and raffle – thank you for playing a huge part in making the evening a resounding success.

During the evening, we heard Ayu’s story. Ayu is a 14-year-old boy who has intellectual and physical impairments, living in a refugee settlement in Uganda and who was not going to school. Working with Uganda Society for Disabled Children (USDC) we were able to provide Ayu with a wheelchair, supporting him to enrol into a school where the teachers had been trained to understand his needs. Ayu is now beginning to thrive.
We want to support more children like Ayu, but to do this, we need your help. Together, we can ensure that no child with a disability in Africa is left behind.
