This year Able Child had an amazing team of 29 runners who completed the TCS London Marathon 2024.
We want to send our biggest congratulations and thanks to our entire running team.
Our amazing team of fundraisers came from all over the UK and beyond, collectively raising over £60,000 for Able Child. Many runners we had maximised their fundraising and went above and beyond their pledge, finding match funding, large gifts and encouraging Gift Aid. These funds are crucial for Able Child to deliver our work for children with disabilities in Africa. So, thank you.
In perfect running conditions, the Able Child cheering squad made noise for every runner who came through at the 23 Mile mark next to Tower Bridge. There were other notable events in this year’s marathon campaign as prize money parity was announced for wheelchair and non-disability athletes alike marking a sea change in competetive sports winning pots, and the youngest participant with Downs Syndrome becomes the first to complete a marathon.
Many thanks for giving me the opportunity to run again for your fantastic charity. The work you do is absolutely amazing and the support offered throughout the process was a great comfort.

Applications open for the TCS London Marathon 2025!
An astonishing and world record-breaking 840,318 people from the UK and across the globe applied in the public ballot for an entry to next year’s TCS London Marathon which takes place on Sunday 27 April 2025. With the ballot now announced, many people will be finding places with charities in order to enter.
Please note that while we would love for everyone to use our allocated spaces, places are limited and as such we select the best applications that we feel will be able to meet and even maximise our pledge target. If we are unable to offer you a place first time round, you will join a waiting list and I will do my best to offer you a place should one become available.
