On the day of the 40th Anniversary of the London Marathon, runners around the globe will participate in ‘V40’ – the world’s first virtual London Marathon.
We are giving you, children and people of all ages the chance to get involved in the excitement with our 4.0 Challenge. It is an attempt to try and fill a small piece of the hole left by the cancellation of large-scale fundraising events this year with the Covid-19 pandemic. The challenge is for individuals to dream up an activity based around the numbers 4.0 or 40 and fundraise or donate through the JustGiving website.
We need 40 heroes to each raise £400. Can you take on the challenge?
The 4.0 Challenge is a simple and fun way for everyone to get involved with the excitement of the 40th London Marathon.
It will launch on Sunday 4th October – the date of the 40th edition of the London Marathon. From Sunday 4th October, we will ask you to dream up an activity based around the numbers 4.0 or 40 and fundraise or donate through JustGiving. The 4.0 Challenge is open to anyone of any age – the only requirement is that the activity must follow the government guidelines on exercise and social distancing. You can run or walk 400m, 4km or for 40 minutes, exercise in your home or garden, go up and down the stairs 40 times, juggle for 4.0 minutes or get 40 people on a video call – anything you can think of.
